Back at the beautiful Elms (in spring) from the top of the street.
Directions
After leaving this much hearalded cherry stretch, turn right down Victoria Drive and walk one block taking a look down the hill of 6th Ave on your right to remember the recent past glory of identifying these majestic Elm trees. One further block brings us back to the first tree-lined street we passed at the start of the walk, 7th Ave and our next featured tree: The Red Oak.

Beautiful Oaks line both sides of the street.
Red Oak
Proper Name: Quercus Rubra
Common Name: Red Oak or Northern Red Oak
Description: A tall deciduous tree with lobed leaves which turn from green in the summer to a red or orangey brown in Autumn. Familiar acorns are produced around the same time.
Defining Feature: If acorns are not hanging from the tree or lying at its base then go for the leaf. The leaf shape of most Oaks once learnt is hard to mistake. This one, with slightly pointed end (some Oaks are more rounded – although all are variable) looks flame-like especially when turn red in autumn and flutter in the wind.

Not all oaks have lobed leaves like this but trees that do are definitely Oaks.
